MAY'S WAYS:
The Scientific Method Not Always Best By Jeffrey May
Today, on our sustainability tour, we
visit Switzerland, the nation of
recyclers. Switzerland is a relatively
small landlocked country in west-
central Europe with a population of
8.7 million.

SUSTAINABILITY SNIPPETS:
Sustainability in Switzerland By Tom Murray
Parents are bombarded with daily
information about potential harm to their
growing children. The health ramifications
of plastics, found in our air and food, were
recently pushed to the foreground with
the report "The Release of Novel
Entities." It contained a specific drill down
on plastics and untested chemicals.
This month, I'm arguing that when we investi-
gate environmental problems in buildings, we
should not be chained down by the dictates of
the scientific method, because I believe that
depending on the scientific method can restrict
an IAQ investigator to an overly narrow path.
