A pril Yungen's appointment as president of NADCA at the association's General Business meeting on March 28 marked a historic occasion as she became the firsteer female president of NADCA. With a wealth of industry experience and her eye trained toward the future, April is poised to continue to grow and expand NADCA while always keeping the association on the cutting edge of new techniques and technology. You can learn a little more about April below. WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING OR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND? WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? I was born and hae lied in outhern California my entire life. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at California State niersity, an ernardino. WHAT COMPANY OR DUCT- CLEANING SERVICE DO YOU CURRENTLY WORK FOR? I am the founder of Air anagement Industries in ancho Cucamonga, California. I started the business in . WHEN DID YOU FIRST TAKE AN INTEREST IN DUCT CLEANING; WHAT STARTED YOU DOWN THIS PATH? My company was born out of the unfortunate failure of two duct cleaning companies. These companies were not successful and after only a few years' time each went out of business. It was at this time that I decided to start my own company with the help of a customer. He provided me with the seed money to buy equipment in order to complete a proect for him. WHAT EXPERIENCE(S) HAVE MOST PREPARED YOU TO TAKE ON THIS LEADERSHIP ROLE AT NADCA? I hae been on the board of directors for eight years and have held the Executive Committee positions of Secretary, Treasurer, 2nd Vice President and st Vice resident. I hae also been the chairperson for numerous NADCA committees. Through this chairing of committees and climbing the eecutie committee rans, I feel I hae gained the tools, nowledge and experience necessary to serve as NADCAs resident. I hae learned so much from each position and from each person I hae encountered along the way. WHAT WILL BE SOME OF YOUR MAIN GOALS OR OBJECTIVES AS PRESIDENT OF NADCA? I plan to continue the growth of NADCA both in membership and in collaboration with other organizations. NADCA has such broad opportunities to educate consumers in the benefits of HVAC cleaning. I plan to follow the science and let it lead us in our future endeavors. WHAT DO YOU SEE AS THE CURRENT STATE OF DUCT/HVAC CLEANING AND WHAT DO YOU HOPE THE FUTURE HOLDS? I am ecited that indoor air uality is in the minds of everyone and strongly believe that NADCA will be at the forefront of this movement. There are so many opportunities for our members to grow their companies in the coming years.
