Many are now wor- ried that similar problems will occur with the new NFIP claims from these recent events. With sig- nificantly more flood-affected properties this time, their fears may not be unfounded, given FEMA's past track record. One particular area of concern stems from a 2013 FEMA Claims Guidance Structural Drying directive regarding the NFIP, which was issued to adjusters processing flood-damage claims. It states that, "…drying should be performed for 1, Disasters.
