T
he hum of the microphones
is still in our ears (literally), as
we wind up the AV cables and
get back to the magazine business
after our live/online conference in
Portland, Maine.
Healthy Indoors embarked on an
industry-changing project by partner-
ing with the Maine Indoor Air Quality
Council (MIAQC) to live-stream
their annual regional meeting to a
national/global audience. The IAQ
& Energy 2018 Conference became
the inaugural installment of its new
Healthy Indoors LIVE Conference
Series, and by combining a live
conference with remote online
access, has ushered in what may be
the future hybrid model for industry
events. Look for more of these offer-
ings from us in the future!
Publisher, Susan Valenti Corliss,
came across an interesting global
Twitter ranking for clean air-relat-
ed posts at https://sustmeme.com/
top-500-leaderboards/clean-air-
top-500/, where both she and I (@
IAQsusan and @IAQMAN, respec-
tively) appear in their top-500 listing,
along with some other familiar indus-
try faces. This illustrates a couple
of things. First, the global industry's
spokespersons are still comprised of
a relatively small group. But, more
importantly, the world is starting to
take additional notice of how envi-
ronmental conditions (both indoors
and out), are affecting our health
and well-being. I believe this trend
toward increased environmental
awareness will continue, and the
combination of social media with
digital news platforms will be a sig-
nificant driving factor.
Healthy Indoors will soon debut
an online news feed dedicated to
indoor environmental stories from
around the country and abroad. This
new service, HI Daily, will be offered
as a free update each weekday via
direct email, as well as on HealthyIn-
doors.com, and feature both original
and curated content, in a concise,
easy-to-digest format.
We are continuing to push the
boundaries to provide you with more
access to credible content for Im-
proving Your Indoor World
